Industrialization, Family & Society: Inspired by the Satire of Dickens' Hard Times
Next month in July we are accepting submissions of all kinds regarding industrialization and its affects on the common worker and the family. While we are giving special attention to the characterization of Industrialization found in the celebrated novel, Hard Times, submissions need not pertain to or discuss Dicken's work explicitly; they need only relate to the subject matter.
The nature of submitted materials can take many forms. Possible formats include articles, essays, poetry, interviews, original artwork, video and other. Perhaps you are familiar with Dickens and would like to write on a specific character in the novel. Maybe you have stories within your family or an elder that lived through 20th century factory life. It doesn't matter just as long as the submission is respectfully presented and generally free of grammatical error. We're trying to create as diverse an experience as possible through your contributions.
Anyone considering submitting something can contact to ask questions or to discuss any concerns they might have as to the posting of the piece. We claim no rights whatsoever; we just ask to post it, properly accredited to you or the artist, for the month in question. You can revoke permission at any time you desire and the piece will be promptly removed from the site. Thorough respect for the wishes of the submitter is our highest concern, and we thank you for the opportunity and honor of displaying your creative and intellectual talents here at HM. Thank you and please submit if this is an area of interest to you!
