Welcome everyone to Humanities Mentor, a site dedicated to the study, research, and discussion of humanities subjects. Our goal is simple: to make as many resources available as possible for students, teachers and researchers; to provide a hub for dialog and exchange; and to provide a place for the meeting of interests and talents.
In addition to our ever-expanding archive of resource links and lesson series, our staff offer paper-reading and tutoring services for students. Additionally, every month we present a featured topic, where we invite conversation and submitted media of all kinds. We greatly appreciate your visitation, and hope that you will consider becoming involved in our growing project. This month's gallery follows the theme of the Papacy, but looks back in time at the representation of the Papacy in Images throughout history.
Drawing a loose timeline through these images, we see how the depiction of the pope has evolved through visual culture, and how scene, allegory, color and composition contribute to our understanding of his place in history. We cordially invite you to browse the gallery and to contribute any images you may have the rights to which correlate with this theme. |
